SWAB International Contemporary Art Fair – Barcelona

For the 2024 edition of SWAB, Plato proposed a group show featuring different perspectives on deception. A contemporary Dionysian homage to Illusion. What we see is trompe’l’oeil, a farce at the center of a game of illusions. ‘Dionysia’ was a large festival in ancient Athens in honor of Dionysus, the god of festivity, insanity, ritual madness, ecstasy, and theater. The show had works from Abel Mota, Eduardo António, Mariana Rebola, Teresa Arega, and Tiago Rocha Costa. Mariana Rebola’s work was selected for the Benoît Doche de Laquintane Acquisition Prize.
